Being a mom is a full-time job in itself, but when you add a career into the mix, it can feel like you're juggling a dozen balls at once. As a full-time working mom to a two-year-old bundle of energy named Sterling and a fourteen-year-old teenager named Sorelle, I've learned a thing or two about the delicate art of balancing it all.

The Morning Rush

My day typically starts with the chaos of getting everyone ready and out the door. Mornings are a whirlwind of making breakfast, packing lunches, and ensuring everyone has everything they need for the day ahead. With Sterling eager to explore everything in sight and Sorelle moving at her own pace, mornings can be a challenge, to say the least.

Finding Time for Work

Once the kids are dropped off at daycare and school, it's time to shift gears and focus on work. Balancing deadlines, meetings, and projects while knowing that my little ones are just a phone call away if they need me can be tough. But I've learned to prioritize tasks, set boundaries, and make the most of every minute I have during the workday.

Cherished Moments

Despite the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I make it a point to cherish the little moments with my kids. Whether it's cuddling up with Sterling for storytime before bed or having heart-to-heart conversations with Sorelle about her day, these moments remind me of what truly matters most.

Self-Care Matters

As moms, we often put our needs last on the list. But I've come to realize that taking care of myself is essential for my well-being and my ability to care for my family. Whether it's carving out time for a workout, indulging in a bubble bath, or simply taking a few moments to breathe, self-care is non-negotiable.

Asking for Help

I've learned that it's okay to ask for help. Whether it's leaning on my partner, enlisting the support of family and friends, or hiring a babysitter for some much-needed time off, recognizing when I need assistance has been a game-changer.

Embracing Imperfection

Finally, I've learned to embrace imperfection. There are days when dinner comes from a box, the laundry piles up, and the house is a mess – and that's okay. Motherhood isn't about being perfect; it's about doing the best we can with the resources we have.

In the end, being a full-time working mom to Sterling and Sorelle is a balancing act, but it's also the most rewarding role I've ever had. Despite the challenges and chaos, the love, laughter, and joy that my children bring into my life make every moment worth it. And as I navigate this journey called motherhood, I'm grateful for the lessons learned and the memories made along the way.
